Overview

Life cycle assessment measures the impact of products on the environment. And it’s becoming an increasingly important factor in production and manufacturing. Through the Life Cycle Assessment Microcertificate, you will learn how to evaluate data, make key decisions, and gain proficiency using LCA analysis and software within the framework.

Required: ENVR E-151 Life Cycle and Supply Chain Sustainability Assessment (available Fall 2026)

Stack Your Microcertificate to a Graduate Certificate

The microcertificate courses can stack toward the 4-course graduate certificate, Corporate Sustainability and Innovation.

Starting and Completing a Microcertificate

To begin your microcertificate, you simply register for your first course for the microcertificate — no application required. Learn how to register.

To earn your microcertificate:

  • Complete the two courses for graduate credit.
  • Earn at least a B grade in each course.
  • Complete the courses within two years.

Starting in the 2026-27 academic year, microcertificates must be completed within 2 years. We will accept one course from academic year 2025-26, however at least one class must be completed in Fall 2026 or later to qualify for this policy change.
