How did you fit your education into your life?

In the past four years of working towards this degree I was working full time, moved twice, got married, and now am expecting my first child with my husband. Balancing it all was challenging to say the least, but it was extremely rewarding to pursue my master’s degree at the same time.

School was my main focus during nights and weekends — that was what really drove my success. It can be a challenge to juggle group projects with team members all over the world, but getting to know people outside my industry and country made the process that much better.

Was there a turning point or moment during your experience at HES that changed how you see yourself or your future?

In my second-to-last semester I was in a course that focused solely on consulting clients in Spain. The project was completely out of my comfort zone and I learned a lot along the way. It challenged me to learn more about a field I am not familiar with, how to manage clients, and how to better work together in a team setting to achieve one goal. This course gave me a hands-on learning experience, which was immensely valuable to my learning journey at Harvard.

What does earning a Harvard degree mean to you?

Earning a Harvard degree really means the world to me. There were many moments of imposter syndrome along the way, but being able to say I achieved this goal is something I will forever be proud of. I set out for a challenge when I was looking to pursue my master’s degree, and Harvard was the ideal place to land in order to achieve this goal.
