About Omid Parhizkar

Omid Parhizkar is with the Global Environment Facility (GEF) at the World Bank in Washington, D.C. His work focuses on successfully implementing a results-based management framework for the GEF’s portfolio of over USD $20 billion working with 18 multilateral development banks (MDBs), United Nations agencies, and nongovernmental organizations (NGOs).

Previously, Parhizkar worked for the International Finance Corporation (IFC) as an environmental consultant, where he built up his skills in the area of sustainable business development. Parhizkar received a PhD from the College of Natural Resources and Environment at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in 2008.
