Dr. Adam Smith holds an MS degree in industrial/organizational psychology from Saint Cloud State University and a doctorate degree in the same field from Auburn University. He currently works in Spencer Stuart’s Leadership Advisory Services, a global executive search and leadership advisory consulting practice.
In his consulting work, he specializes in the areas of employee assessment, leadership selection and development, and talent strategy, working with clients to identify, select, and develop leaders at all levels of the organization. He also supports the development of the employee assessment technology, portfolio, and strategy for Spencer Stuart.
In addition to his consulting work, he serves as an instructor at Harvard Extension and Summer schools, teaching courses on the topics of industrial/organizational psychology and statistics. His research interests include leadership and follower dynamics, workplace personality, and statistical methods.
He has presented his research at numerous international conferences, including the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology, the Association for Psychological Science, and the International Convention for Psychological Science.
He is also the co-author of a book on the application and use of the statistics software SPSS.
