All students participating in May Commencement Ceremonies are required to wear the official Harvard regalia, as approved by The Harvard University Commencement Office.
If you are planning on participating in the in-person Commencement ceremonies on Thursday, May 29, 2025, we encourage you to place your orders now!
If you are unsure if you will be attending, please still order your regalia! Orders for unused regalia are refundable if returned by Commencement day.
Regalia Orders
All orders for regalia are placed online through Harvard’s regalia vendor, Herff Jones.
When placing your order, please select the following options from the ordering menu:

ALB students:

ALM Custom-Made Regalia Purchases (Optional)
ALM degree candidates who wish to purchase custom-made regalia may do so online through Herff Jones.
When placing your order, please select the following options from the ordering menu:

The deadlines to purchase custom-made regalia are as follows:
- To ensure you receive your regalia in time, and to avoid expedited processing fees, please place your orders by Friday, March 15, 2025.
- Those who are shipping internationally should contact Herff Jones to determine if expedited processing is necessary.

Ordering Deadlines

Herff Jones will issue a refund for unopened and unused Regalia provided the return is postmarked before Thursday, May 29, 2025.

Regalia Accessories
The only regalia accessories endorsed for Harvard University’s Commencement Exercises, including the HES Commencement Ceremony, are University-provided regalia accessories (such as a stole, pin, tassel, cord, etc.). Neither University-wide regalia accessories nor Harvard Extension School regalia accessories can be created by students or student-run organizations without planning and approval by Harvard University’s student affairs, commencement, and OEDIB offices. Those who attempt to sell unapproved academic regalia — including stoles, pins, tassels, cords, etc. — may face exclusion from Harvard commencement events.
Please note that Harvard Extension School is currently unable to approve student and student-run organizations’ customized/personalized regalia accessory requests. We appreciate your understanding.
Please be advised that graduates who wear regalia accessories not provided by the University must remove these before participating in all Harvard Commencement events.
