Words cannot begin to express my immense gratitude toward the esteemed Harvard community. My time at Harvard has been nothing short of rewarding, with endless opportunities for growth and development.

What truly sets this institution apart is the unwavering unity and support within the community. Witnessing individuals from all walks of life being treated with kindness, empathy, and respect has been inspiring.

It is rare to find such an inclusive culture within an academic setting, and I feel incredibly fortunate to have been a part of it.

If you completed a capstone or thesis, describe what you did.

As a student in the ALB program, I was unable to complete a capstone or thesis project. However, I am proud to have contributed to a published paper alongside Harvard faculty.

Our research introduces a new model for understanding depression in athletes, which we call Adaptable Depression. Through our study, we found that athletes’ symptoms of depression differ from those of the general public, as their brains are uniquely primed for adaptability in response to rigorous training.

What’s something unexpected that you learned about Harvard? 

I was pleasantly surprised to learn that Harvard upholds the principle of kindness as one of its fundamental values.

It’s truly remarkable to see an institution of such repute prioritize treating others with empathy and compassion alongside academic excellence. It speaks volumes about their commitment to creating a welcoming and supportive environment for all students and staff.

I greatly appreciate this approach and feel confident that it will help foster a positive learning experience for everyone involved.

My ultimate goal is to obtain a an MD-Ph.D. In addition to my academic and athletic pursuits as a professional tennis player, I am the founder of ForFoundation, a non-governmental organization that provides mental health support to underprivileged youth in Poland. We focus on school-aged children and elite athletes as we aim to bridge the gap in access to mental health resources.

My passion for this work stems from my desire to positively impact the lives of those around me and contribute to a brighter future for all.

What are you going to miss the most about HES? 

A particular aspect that I will genuinely miss is the chance to meet intriguing individuals at the beginning of each new class.

It’s an exhilarating prospect to come across people from various backgrounds and perspectives that can expand my comprehension and insight.

These interactions have proven to be an invaluable part of my personal growth and overall development.
